My journey in this logo design began in the spring of 2022 when Mia Hernandez, the owner of the business, Conifer & Bough Wreaths contacted me with the idea of putting together a logo for her business. Mia wanted a logo design that would be minimalist while still complimenting her products, and maintaining brand identity. Being that she uses circular metal hoops in her wreath design, I came up with some initial concepts which would be a subtle nod to that design choice.
The first step in this logo design process was research. I began the design process by sketching out a couple of ideas based on the following inspiration words; flora, minimalist, decorative, elegant, and chic. I wanted to create a couple of quick thumbnail sketches by hand to get some ideas out onto paper. Also, I wanted to get a general idea of the fonts I would use. When I did run out of ideas or got stuck I looked to Pinterest and other online resources to generate more ideas/design solutions.
From the hand-drawn sketches, I was able to translate some of those hand-drawn designs into prototype vector images using Adobe Illustrator.
In the fall of 2022, I was asked by Mia to do redesign the business card, this redesign was necessary to make the business card more accessible and legible. The new redesign introduces the Instagram hyperlink so that customers can simply connect to the account and look at the products her business provides.
